For this year’s invitation we used Scodix, which is a print finish that adds an opulent look and feel by producing a raised ink effect. This finish was applied to a repeating pattern created using the 'S' from the SYMM logo. Through this we wove the date of the party. The invitation is also duplexed (i.e. made from two sheets of card bonded together) to create a heavyweight card. SYMM also adopted the 'S' motif to send out save the date notices by email.
In previous years we have used various other different finishes to create these distinctive invitations. For 2015, when SYMM was celebrating its 200th year, we printed invitations finished with embossing and silver foil and the reverse text printed in a metallic silver. Again the cards were duplexed for extra weight and rigidity
The year before we made cards with the builder's name die cut in grey card and then duplexed on to an orange card back.
