Holywell helps stone carver, Alex Wenham with branding to launch his business in the UK

Prize-winning stone carver, Alex Wenham, came to Holywell to help launch himself in the UK, having already established a strong reputation in France.

An updated logo, printed publicity and website

Alex (seen above at work at Magdalen College with the vinyl banner Holywell produced for him) already had a carver’s mark he used as a signature on his work but our studio cleaned this up and created vector artwork for him to use as a logo throughout the printed and digital collateral Holywell produced for him. This ensures a consistent look and feel to all this material, which extended from business cards and a postcard through to a brochure and the large format fabric banner and ultimately to a new portfolio website.

A5 brochure design

Central to the campaign was a beautifully-printed 12-page A5 brochure printed on Conqueror High White Wove paper for Alex to hand out to prospective clients. Alex has since told us that this brochure is what has brought him the most work since he moved to Oxford. The brochure was typeset using the Fournier font. It has a light, clean look on the page and fits well with the content.

Promotional postcards and business cards

In addition to the brochure, we produced business cards and postcards for Alex, again using Conqueror High White Wove to create a coherent look.

Portfolio website design

When Alex first came to Holywell he did not realise that we could put together a website for him as well as produce branding and printed collateral. He was delighted that we could do this and commissioned us to put together a Squarespace-based site for him. The advantage was that, by keeping digital and print design together in the same studio, we were able to ensure consistent branding across all media.

The site is fully resposive, working equally well on laptops, desktops, tablets and mobiles.
