Oxford is renowned for its writing and publishing industry, but it can be difficult for authors not tied to agents and major book publishers to get noticed. The Oxford Indie Book Fair aims to celebrate the independent sector of authors, publishers, agents, printers, poets, illustrators, designers, and writers’ groups. First held in November 2021, it offers a platform for those in the sector to showcase their work.

This year’s Oxford Indie Book Fair will run in parallel with the final Saturday of the 2022 Oxford Literary Festival. It is being held on Saturday 2nd April at the Wesley Memorial Hall, New Inn Hall Street, Oxford. Unlike its larger, more prestigious cousin, the Oxford Indie Book Fair is free for the general public to attend. In addition to around 45 local exhibitors, the event features an engaging programme of performances and talks for all ages.
