The Sudanese Programme Logo

Holywell design new identity for the relaunch of The Sudanese Programme as a registered charity

When the Sudanese Programme wanted to produce a Book of Record commemorating 20 years of organising workshops and conferences to further knowledge and understanding of Sudan and South Sudan they turned to Holywell after a recommendation from the Middle East Centre for whom we also designed a new logo.

The Programme was so pleased with the publication that when they relaunched as a registered charity they again turned to the Press to produce a new identity to include a new logo, branding, stationery and website.

Various ideas were considered for the logo, including a device with an egret (common in Sudan) but eventually it was decided the logo should incorporate a map of Sudan including the border between Sudan and South Sudan. The colours adopted are evocative of the landscapes of the two countries from the lush green and blue of the Nile and its banks to the desert sands.

Versions of the logo include the main logo with the name of the programme circling the map device and a stacked version of the logo for use where space makes a landscape logo more appropriate. See more of the logos we've designed here.

The logo has been used on A4 letterheaded paper and compliments slips, unusually the paper chosen is a grey laid paper which gives the stationery a very distinctive look.

Business cards were also produced.

A detailed set of brand guidelines were produced for the Programme to refer to in production of future marketing materials.

In addition to the printed stationery we also designed a website for the Programme. The site includes an archive of the Programme’s conferences and workshops, a publication page, a forthcoming events page and a contact page with a Mailchimp newsletter signup. The site uses the brand colours and graphics devices to ensure a consistent identity across print and digital media, something that is easy for us to do with both digital and print expertise under the same roof.
